The Oak Ridge Boys Return to Nashville for Heartwarming Christmas Residency

NASHVILLE, TN — The legendary Oak Ridge Boys are bringing the holiday spirit back to Music City this year with a special Christmas residency that promises to deliver both joy and nostalgia for fans old and new.

Returning to Nashville for a limited run of festive performances, the group’s Christmas residency — titled “Down Home Christmas with The Oak Ridge Boys” — kicks off this December at the historic Ryman Auditorium. The residency marks the continuation of a beloved tradition that has become a cornerstone of the group’s annual calendar and a cherished part of the city’s holiday season.

Known for their timeless harmonies, infectious energy, and deep roots in both gospel and country music, The Oak Ridge Boys are celebrating over five decades in the music industry. But for them, Christmas holds a particularly special meaning.

“Christmas is about family, faith, and tradition — all things we hold dear,” said lead singer Duane Allen. “Coming back to Nashville to share these songs with our fans, many of whom have been with us for generations, is truly a blessing.”

The show will feature a mix of holiday classics like “Silent Night,” “White Christmas,” and “Jingle Bells,” alongside original Oak Ridge Boys Christmas favorites such as “Thank God for Kids” and “Christmas Cookies.” In true Oak Ridge Boys fashion, each performance is expected to blend music, storytelling, and heartfelt humor.

For tenor Joe Bonsall, who recently stepped back from touring due to health reasons but remains involved in group projects, the holiday shows offer something deeper.

“There’s a warmth in these Christmas shows that you just don’t get anywhere else,” Bonsall shared in a video message to fans. “It’s more than a concert — it feels like coming home.”

The Oak Ridge Boys first began their Christmas tour tradition in the late 1980s, and since then, it has evolved into a fan-favorite event, selling out venues across the country each winter. The Nashville residency gives them the opportunity to settle into one place and connect more personally with audiences.

“We slow down, we take time with each song,” said William Lee Golden, whose iconic beard and stage presence have made him a fan favorite. “We reflect, we laugh, and we remember what the season is truly about.”

This year’s residency is especially meaningful as it comes amid the group’s long-running farewell tour. Though the Boys plan to ease into retirement gradually, the Christmas residency offers fans one last chance to see the quartet together in their element — celebrating joy, family, and faith through music.

Tickets have already begun to sell quickly, with fans eager to experience the warmth and tradition that only The Oak Ridge Boys can bring.

As Richard Sterban, the group’s deep bass singer, put it: “We may be winding things down, but the spirit of Christmas — and the love we share with our fans — is forever.”
